My favourite book and one I learned the most from. Will have to work harder to apply the concepts to your business.
Loved it. Rosenbaum did all the interviews, analysis and research so that we can understand the implications. He structured the book so that it answered my key concerns and raised questions that I hadn’t yet thought of. Helped me figureout how I could leverage curation for my business.
One of my favourite books on marketing, period. It goes beyond tips to network with others. it’s about how you can become a person worth connecting too. It has so many exercises and useful case studies. I highly recommend it, but be prepared to do the work. If you like this, also check out The Startup Of You.
Fantastic book that will teach you how to use new media to tell the story of your business. While DM Scott talks about social media, that is not the focus. The focus is one the best way to tell stories and communicate your brands message. Highly recommended
Just be aware that only a third of the book is dedicated specifically to networking tips. The rest of the book is about positioning yourself to the type of person people want to connect to. It is incredibly valuable and should be a must read for anyone about to enter the workforce. It’s worth knowing though that the book will require you to think about the ‘big picture’ in terms of your career.
Showing how brands can take advantage of a trending news story and get more coverage. This concept has become incredibly popular over the past years.
Another fab read by DM Scott. If you are ultra savvy in the digital space, you may know a lot of this. I learned so much and I write about digital marketing for clients.
THE book if you want more business from referrals. I’m pretty savvy when it comes to connecting online, and social media, but I still learned a lot. I particularly liked the distinction between peers and customers. There was a lot of ‘aha!’ moments that I was able to quickly leverage in my business.
The Revolutionary Power of Klout, Social Scoring, and Influence Marketing: The best book I’ve read on influencer marketing. Probably one of the top 10 business books I’ve read.
Using for help figuring out what stage you are at in your business. Lets you know what strategies you should think about for each step. It’s useful in conjunction with Gentiles book. It gives you a framework for growth.
Probably *the* best book for those at the start of their career. It helps you approach work differently.
A look at how outrage culture is being leveraged for marketing purposes. This book is primarily about how businesses can manipulate the blogosphere in order to get ‘credible’ publications to cover them. I consider myself to be an ethical blogger and I found myself nodding constantly when he brought up examples. Heck, I’ve been caught up in PR firestorms online so have first-hand experience about a lot of what Ryan said.
The book structure is flawed, as others have said. At times, it feels repetitive. It was brilliantly written though, which I know is a contradiction. There was a number of times I just wished he’d get to his well-written point.
Brilliant – a must read if you want to get down to the nuts and bolts of how to spread, well, anything. It sums up the method that I use to share ideas
A person favourite by a marketer I admire. The concept of a World Wide Rave is developing a concept that gets people talking. Beautifully designed and makes a boring concept fun. Love it.
